The band bohemianvoodoo started in 2008 and released their first album, SCENES, in 2012. They then released Aromatic in 2014 and echoes in 2017. These two albums were followed by MOMENTS in 2019. Their most recent release, which is what I listened to, is the EP Bouquet. Their most listened to song on youtube is “Adria Blue” which was released on November 6th, 2012 and, on the date of writing, has reached 4.2 million views. Their channel has a total of 7.2 million views overall, so their songs are decently popular.
The EP I am reviewing today is Bouquet by bohemianvoodoo. This EP is very interesting as it is a very intricate jazz EP. It was released on December 2nd, 2020. The EP is only 26 minutes long, and each song is about four minutes. Each one is very similar, but I still enjoyed it. They all have a similar theme, with main piano, guitar, and soft backing drums. The EP does what it wants and doesn’t waste any time. I think my favorite song on the EP would be “For Tomorrow” as I like the drums and piano that are heard throughout the song. The EP cover is interesting as well, as it seems to be a black and white drawing that matches the title of the album. The EP starts strong and keeps it up throughout the course of listening to it. bohemianvoodoo is a band from Japan, so there might not be many people in the US who have heard of them. This is a band I am new to and would recommend to others. Overall I enjoyed this EP and I would recommend this to anyone who might like jazz.
